Press, brand kit, voice rules.

Everything a journalist, designer, or partner needs to write about AudioLab without us getting in the way. Assets, colours, type, voice — and a boilerplate paragraph you can paste.

01 Boilerplate · paste anywhere

AudioLab.tools is an authority platform for the overlap between audio, AI, development, accessibility, and live workflows. It hosts six labs — MixLab, VoiceLab, HearLab, SignalLab, CueLab, SkillLab — each with real, browser-side tools that ship rather than landing pages that promise. Built by working audio developers, not investor-funded slop.

Pronouncing it

"Audio-Lab dot dev." Three beats. Period in the middle is read as "dot".

Style

Cap A and L only. Always one word. Domain extension is part of the brand.

02 Logo system
AudioLab.tools wordmark dark

Wordmark · dark surface

Default. Use on any surface darker than Ink 700.

AudioLab.tools wordmark light

Wordmark · light surface

Use on any surface lighter than Ink 200.

AudioLab brand mark

Mark only

Square mark for app icons, avatars, anywhere the wordmark won’t fit.

Do

  • • Keep at least one mark-width of clear space on every side.
  • • Use the wordmark at 24px height or larger.
  • • Use the mark at 16px height or larger.
  • • Preserve the gradient on the bars — it’s the brand’s only colour signature.

Don’t

  • • Don’t recolour the bars to anything except brand tokens.
  • • Don’t add taglines, drop shadows, or decorative effects.
  • • Don’t place on busy imagery — use a contrast surface.
  • • Don’t recreate from scratch — use the SVGs we provide.
03 Colour system

OKLCH-calibrated. Each primary token has paired dark and light values so theme switching is mechanical, not aesthetic.

04 Typography

Display + body

Geist Variable

Audio is craft.
AI is leverage.

Body copy uses Geist at 400–500 weight with -0.011em letter-spacing. Display copy uses 540 weight with -0.035em letter-spacing for the optical tightening.

Mono · meta + numbers

JetBrains Mono Variable

-14.2 LUFS · 0.71 width
48 kHz · stereo

Used for technical readouts, eyebrow labels, code, and anything where character precision matters more than reading speed.

05 Voice rules

The single biggest non-design decision in the brand. AudioLab writes like a working engineer talks to another engineer, not like a marketing department.

Do
Don’t
Write people-first
Stuff with keywords
Be specific (-14 LUFS)
Be vague ("loud")
Say what doesn’t work yet
Imply finished when it isn’t
Use working-engineer language
Use marketing word-soup
Show the working
Promise the magic
Default to honesty
Hedge with weasel words
